Kayaking Clubs Florida

I need to know if a sit on top kayak will be able to keep up with the kayak club?

I am buying a kayak and want to join the club here in sw florida. I just need to know if it will be able to keep up with them or do I need to get an enclosed style. Please no “ask the club” type answers; I will do that if I don’t get any good responses here.

well i’m not sure what kind of club it is but i don’t think they would make a club for those who want to fish (which is what sit on top kayaks are for) so you either should buy a white water kayak (for rivers) or a sprint/flat water kayak (these are the kinds of boats with the rudders and the carbon fiber paddles, mostly for racing)

so it depends on the kind of water you will be on river = white water kayak
reservoir/ lake = sprint kayak (but these are 1000$ and up, so you might need to save some more )
